Park's Sympathy Walk

Hopefully this won't be one of those "you had to be there" stories. Park was playing with his little superman book last night when we were trying to get kids in bed and he was soooo upset when we took it from him. In his moment of an emotional breakdown he searched for anything that would fill the void of not being able to play with his book....he grabbed a crutch from one of Annicka's dolls and started using it to help him walk out of the room all the while crying his heart out. Poor Poor Park.

More summertime fun!

We've been having lots of fun outside with the hot weather. Here are some pics to show you what we've been up to!
These ones are from our neighbor Daniel's birthday party. Annicka couldn't get enough of the slide.

We've discovered a fun new use for sidewalk chalk. You color in a wet spot on the ground with a lot of chalk and then rub your hands and feet in it and you can make hand and foot prints with it. Pretty fun!

We've been to a splash park in Herriman that Lori, Scott's sister, introduced us to.

Finally, this morning I got the sprinkler out for Annicka. I didn't bother getting Park a swimsuit on because he hasn't stepped near it this summer. I went to check on them and Park was soaked and he was trying to get a drink from the sprinkler! Crazy boy!

Another ultrasound!

Well I had another appointment yesterday and I got really lucky! Apparently the doctor I was scheduled to see (I go to a group practice) likes to do an ultrasound again if you are less than 13 weeks. He says it's easier to see the baby's heart beat as opposed to just hearing it when they are still that small and he just likes to visualize it better. So I said, "That's fine with me!" It's actually starting to look like a baby! This is a frontal view, looking straight at the baby. It's head is there to the right and you can even see it's arms and legs, those little white lines on, and next to the body.I've been toying with the idea that since we now have one of each, just waiting until the baby is born to see if it's a boy or a girl...I don't think it'll happen! I just can't help thinking every day, "so, are you a little boy or a little girl?" And then getting another ultrasound I just knew that when it came down to getting the 20 week ultrasound I would want to know right then!

Room Sharing

Well, since we've got a new baby on the way we decided it was a good time to move Park into Annicka's bedroom. He's been there for about a week, sleeping, and today I finally got all of his clothes and other things moved in and the room arranged. The only downfall to them sharing a room is that they inevitably wake each other up in the morning and keep each other up a little later at night. But they really do love it.

Pictures

Scott is home and I was finally able to download pictures that we have been taking recently. Here's a sample. This is Annie right after her cast came off last Monday.
Just a few hours after getting her cast off Annicka decided she wanted to get daddy's sunglasses off of the table. Instead of using the chair, like she normally does, she thought it would be a good idea to stand on her big wheel trike to get them down. She had just gotten them on when the bike went right out from under her and she face planted it on the floor, breaking daddy's glasses and giving herself a few scratches. I don't know what I'll do with myself if she re-brakes her arm!
Park is at this point where he absolutely refuses to eat, unless he can feed himself, nevermind how messy he gets.
What a cute kid!
The other day Annicka brought in the mail for me. I found her in the livingroom reading the food ads for Smith's very intently.

We've had lots of fun swimming now that it is finally warm enough!

The Cast is Off!

Well, Annicka got her cast off and her pins out yesterday morning! I would have some pictures, but Scotty kifed the USB cord that hooks up to the camera and he is in Muncie, IN until Friday. (Did I just use the word kife? I haven't said that since I was...well, I don't know since when.) So pictures will have to wait. She's doing great and likes to show me that she can bend her arm now. We even went swimming this morning because I have been promising to let her for a long time. The doctor yesterday even told her she needed to go swimming a lot this summer so her elbow could get stronger. He was an amazing doctor, by the way. His name is Alan Stotts and his bedside manner is great. He talked to Annicka like she was an adult, without using big words and her arm looks perfect in her xrays that they took yesterday. We have been really blessed throughout this whole process when it came to doctors and when it came to Annie healing well and her being such a trooper. She had a few melt down moments, but not nearly as many as I would have thought, and she has been super brave. What a lucky mom I am to have such a great kid!

In case you didn't already know...

Well, here we are. Bean #3. Most of you know this already, and today we had our first doctor's appointment. My goal was not to tell anyone until after the first doctor's appt at least. And I couldn't! If I saw you or even talked to you for a prolonged period on the phone, it came up. You'd think that since this is our third baby that I'd be able to wait! No. My dad and his wife were able to wait until she was 16 weeks, Scott's sister Kaylene the same. Here I am, barely 8 weeks and almost everyone knows! Oh well! What can I say? We are very excited to welcome another child into our little family. The baby (that's right, Rachel, just one baby) is looking good and my due date is January 14th.
