It's about time!

Annicka is finally potty trained! Hallelujah! We started last Monday. Monday and Tuesday were both very nice days. I wasn't expecting much, I just figured she could at least go outside bare bottomed for most of the day. At least to let her know what it feels like when she peed on herself. Well, that was it! She had a total of three accidents on Monday and Tuesday and she hasn't had one since! Her diapers have even been dry for the last four mornings. We are SOOOOO happy and proud of her!
And because she filled in her chart today we get to go and get this game that Annicka has been dying for. She actually filled in her chart yesterday, but since it was Sunday we couldn't go and she was extremely disappointed. So after I'm done blogging we will go!
The trampoline hole is also finished now, with the exception of the removal of the big pile of dirt in the middle. That should get taken care of sometime soon, as our neighbors need it to fill in lots of sink holes around their yard.

Trampoline Issues

As many of you know, when we first moved in we dug a hole in our backyard for our trampoline. To keep the dirt from caving in we used some sheet metal to line the hole. Apparently we didn't do a great job and we've had a lot of issues with the sides caving in from the pressure of the dirt getting wet and settling. Well, this weekend we decided it was finally time to take care of the problem once and for all. Scott had a brilliant idea and we have decided to frame the hole with wood (pressure treated) and then after we've gotten it framed and connected we'll screw the sheet metal into that. It's a lot of work, but hopefully this is the last time we'll have to deal with it. This is the progress we were able to make yesterday, we feel pretty good about it and we'll let you know how it holds up when we are done.

Last night I was giving Annicka and Park a bath after a long dirty day. It was 80 yesterday and really nice, so we were outside almost all day. It's hard to believe it's snowing right now. Oh, how quickly the weather changes during the spring here. That's beside the point...I was giving the kids baths and Annie kept splashing Park. It always got directly in his eyes and I asked her to stop several times and of course it happened yet again. I was getting pretty worked up and I said somewhat severely to her, "Annicka, how many times do I have to tell you to stop splashing Park?!" She looked up at me and said very matter-of-factly, "Three times."

The Bean Museum

Yesterday we decided to take the kids to the Bean Museum on campus at BYU. They had a ball. Annicka loved to see all of the animals and Park had a great time just running aroung being crazy and going up and down the steps.

Park wouldn't take his picture by the Lion, it made him nervous. They had a reptile show that Annicka got to watch. She got to touch a turtle, a snake and a lizard. She sat there for 30 minutes of it absolutely entranced. She did awesome. Of course Park was just running around, he couldn't sit still for anything.

Food Issues

Annicka has never really been a good eater. We are constantly having to hand feed her so that she'll actually eat something. We were trying to leave her alone and let her do it on her own when she fell asleep at the table a few days ago.
Breakfast is usually the best meal that Annicka has. I rarely have to feed her and she'll eat it all gone. But today, like most other meals of the day, I gave her her choices and she chose a waffle and then did not eat it. I generally leave her food out on the table and then when she tells me she's "really hungry" I tell her to finish what's on the table. Well, apparently Annicka was not quick enough today. I came into the kitchen and Park had gotten up to the table and was finishing Annicka's breakfast for her. Using her fork even! I didn't know he even knew how to use a fork!

I guess I'm glad I've got one good eater. This was breakfast #2 for Park.

Tagged

I was tagged by two friends in my ward, Melanie Young and Amanda Skinner.
Pick up the nearest book.
Turn to page 123
Post the fifth sentence
Tag 5 friends. (As you all know, I don't tag others, but I'll always answer.)

How lame is this? It's kind of sad, it was the closest book. I toyed with the idea of not being completely honest about the closest book, but this was it. Scott has been working on the basement lately, doing the electrical. That's my excuse. If I had lied about the closest book I would have put on here the book "Princess Acadamy" by Shannon Hale. I finished it a few days ago, I highly recommend it. Anyhow, here is the fifth sentence of that most exciting book, Home Depot's "Wiring 1-2-3". "Attach the conduit to the fitting and boxes." UGH!

Happy Easter!

It's been a while since we posted some pictures of the chitlins. So here are some random ones that we have taken recently. This one is Annicka and Sam playing "ring around the rosies" on the trampoline (it was taken through the window, so it's a little grubby looking).
These are of the kids in their Easter outfits. I love the one with Park looking at Annicka like she's a little crazy.

These pictures Scott was randomly taking of Park. He just cracks us up!
