Yesterday....

Well, we had a busy day. Scott took the day off and we went down to BYU so I could take my final for my dumb English class that I have been working on since August. I can't leave Indie for long enough to leave him at a sitters, so all the kids came down with Scott, I fed him right before I went in. I AM FINISHED! Can I tell you what a relief it is? My class has been REALLY hard, especially since I was watching that little girl Samantha and then I had Indie. So devoting hours and hours to writing papers was not easy...especially since I'm not much of a writer anyway. I also got my final paper back today, it was the big one and I pulled a B. I am very excited about that. The kids got to play at Mcdonald's while I took my test. Then we were lucky enough to be able to go to the Draper Temple openhouse. Annicka loved it. I think she might have liked the bus ride from the church parking lot to the temple better than the temple itself, but it was a good experience. We got to talk with her about doing baptisms for the dead and we talked about getting married in the temple when we got to the sealing room. We also talked about how good she felt while we were there. It was great. We are so lucky to live so close to the temple and to have this gospel in our lives to help guide and direct us in raising our kids.

2 months

Well, today we had Indie's 2 month check up. It's gone by so quickly and so to commemorate I thought it might be fun to put up pictures of all the kids when they were two months, just for comparison.

Blessing Day

We blessed Indie on Sunday. This is a picture we took at Scott's mom's house afterward. Scott did a great job on his blessing, too. I am so lucky to have a husband who is able to hold the priesthood and who exercises it worthily! Some of the things he was blessed with:
Experience health throughout his infancy.
He will grow to be a happy young boy by the time he reaches primary.
With a desire to teach others of the gospel that makes him happy.
With a desire to be baptized.
As he follows the teachings of Jesus Christ he will gain a testimony of Him.
When he reaches the age to hold the priesthood he will be a willing participant and will gain a desire to bless others with it.
Find someone to take to the temple.
With a desire to serve a mission.
With an understanding of the talents Heavenly Father has blessed him with and how to multiply them.
Will know the gospel is true by following its teachings.
Be a good example to his brothers and sisters and to his own children.

Smiles and Three Kids

I've been asked by a lot of people how it is adjusting to three kids. I had heard before that it is the hardest adjustment. I am going to agree. I think what makes it so difficult is that I can no longer take a nap when I want to. With the first you can sleep whenever the baby does. With the second Annie was still taking naps in the afternoon and with this one, even Park is refusing to take a nap in the afternoon. It doesn't help much that Park has hit his terrible twos and throws tantrums about anything and everything. Annicka has been a great helper, but even she is emotional a lot and cries at the drop of a hat. It probably doesn't help to be post-pardumy (is that a word?) either. I find myself getting irritated a little too quickly with the kids. We are adjusting, though. I am feeling a lot better and I think the kids are finally getting used to the change.Indie has just started smiling. The picture above is what he normally looks like. He always seems to be scowling, that is until he smiles. It's adorable!
This picture was taken a few weeks ago...I thought I'd throw it in for comparison. They change so quickly. His head is growing so fast that his hair can't keep up and now he has his dad's receeding hairline.

This is the result of Park's refusal to take naps. He still needs them sometimes, but if I put him in his room he just plays instead of sleeping. So, he ends up falling asleep in some interesting places. This is the chair infront of the computer.

Blessed

I've usually done this in my personal journal. After the birth of each of my children I like to write down the feelings I have and the hopes I have for them. That was also before I started blogging. So here we are with Indie. I eventually want to get those books that you can publish from your blog and I thought this would be a good place to write this down.

It is an incredible feeling and miracle to watch this little body emerge from inside of you. And then to have him start to cry. Especially after a neighbor has lost their little boy that was born just two days before. Pregnancy is no longer something new to me, but it is still incredible every time it happens. As soon as I feel movements inside I wonder at the little miracle growing inside. Indie, we are so happy to have you as part of our family. You have two great older siblings who love you. Your dad and I love you, too. I hope that we can teach you of the love your Heavenly Father and older brother, Jesus Christ, have for you through the love that we show you. Your father and I pray everyday to be guided by the spirit in raising you and in teaching you the gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope that one day you will gain a testimony of that gospel and that you will desire to follow it. I hope that you will choose to share your testimony with those around you and also that you will choose to serve a mission. Your personality is already beginning to show. You are very placid, very laid back (a Chamberlain trait), and hardly ever fuss. I hope that you will learn to take life as it comes and to enjoy the small moments. Despite any challenges you'll face, it will be those small moments that will bring joy to your life. We love you, Indie! We really are happy to have you join our family!

Welcome Indie!

Everything started on Sunday night. I started having contractions and we went into the hospital. After laboring with regular contractions for over four hours (2 1/2 at home and then 1 1/2 at the hospital the contractions stopped and since I hadn't progressed I had to go home. They gave me pain medication and we went home. I continued to have contractions all of Monday but they weren't regular or very strong. At about 7:30 or 8 the contractions became regular again. We got to the hospital at about 11 and they started monitoring me again. After the first hour there was still no change. By this time it had begun to snow and the doctor didn't want to send me home quite yet. So they gave me some percocet and said to wait another hour. The contractions continued even through the pain medication, they even got stronger and I had barely changed from a 4 to a 4+. They told me I was staying and I got my epidural at about 1:15 am. At about three the nurse came to check me and I was at a 7. She decided to roll me over and in the process my water broke. I had a couple more contractions when we finally realized that I was soaking and she checked me again and I was at a ten. She left to call the doctor who was still at home. So I laid on my side for 20 or 30 minutes trying not to push so that Dr. Lamoreaux could make it. He made it and I only pushed through one contraction before little Indie Glenn came into the world at 3:38 am. He was 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. He was beautiful from the beginning (what mom doesn't think so?) and he had blonde hair. We are extremely blessed to have a healthy baby!
