Happy Spurs Day!

The NBA playoffs are a big deal in this family, especially when the San Antonio Spurs play. Today is game four and they are down in the series against Dallas 2-1. Maybe Indie's outfit will give them some good luck! Thanks, again, to Matt Guymon who gave this to us for Indie!

Retro AWESOME!

While my mom was here this weekend she brought us a bunch of old clothes that she has had in her trunk since we were kids. Some of them were costumes that we have used over the years, including pioneer dresses, and others were just little girl dresses that we used to wear. This dress was among them, and can I tell you what? I actually like it, A LOT. It's really retro, but awesome at the same time. I think I'll wear it to church on Sunday. What do you think?

Easter

This weekend Grandma Copple and Papa Jim came to town. The kiddos got to go swimming at their hotel pool. As you can see, they had a blast!Grandma Great Wilson had an egg hunt on Sunday. All of the grandkids and great-grandkids hunted for eggs at the cemetery near her house and after the egg hunt she collected the specially decorated eggs. Each one had something in them that had something to do with the crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. Then she talked about her parents who were buried there and how she was looking forward to their Resurrection. It was a fun day!Grandma Great in her special Easter hat...It's for things like this that my brother BJ and his wife refer to her affectionately as "crazy grandma".Hunting for eggs with aunt Maureen.Enjoying the spoils!

A Conversation in the Car

The kids and I were driving home from picking up a prescription for Park (for his eczema) when Annicka had the following conversation with me:

Annie: You have to get married to get a baby in your tummy, huh, mommy.
Me: That's right.
Annie: I think Summer (our neighbor) just got married. She has a baby in her tummy.
Me: Summer has been married for a long time already (this is baby #6 for her).
Annie: But she has a baby in her tummy. She just got married.

Oh! The brain of a four-year-old! She thinks you have to get married everytime you get pregnant. I think we'll leave the sex education at that for a little while.

About the kids.

I thought I'd write down some funny things about the kids we want to remember.

First, Annicka. She is one funny little girl. Her favorite thing to do right now is to find the most inopportune time to say she loves you. Don't get me wrong...I love it when she does this, but it is always when she should be eating her dinner, or going to bed, or when you are in the bathroom. Almost every night we hear the door creek open and we hear Annie say, "I love you, Mommy and Daddy!" Then she won't close the door until she hears both of us say it back. Annicka is not a good eater and will find any opportunity to get out of her chair to find something to distract herself. Half of the time she'll come up and give one of us a hug, "I love you!" "I love you, too, Annicka. Now go and eat your dinner." She is also the quintessential four year old girl and cries at the drop of a hat. Literally, all it takes is someone to drop their hat and she bursts into tears. "He dropped his haaaaaaat!" Well, maybe it's not that bad, but she does cry about everything. "Mom, Sam looked at me funny!"

Park on the other hand is our little tough guy. If he really gets hurt he'll cry, but it never lasts longer than it needs to and he always does what he can not to. Just tonight he dropped a John Deer tractor toy on his foot. This tractor is not small, either. It weighs a good half pound. I would cry if it dropped on my foot. I watched him drop it and I heard him say, "OW!" but that was it. I said, "ouch! Are you okay?" He looked up at me with watery eyes and said, "Yeah." Then he leaned down and rubbed it. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yeah, I okay." Then later when it was time for bed I found a sliver in his foot. It was red and swollen and so it must have been in all day, maybe longer. So I got the needle and tweezers out and had to dig it out. He screamed, but did his best to hold still. Once I got it out the tears immediately stopped. The thing was a good half inch long and had gone straight in. It wasn't angled at all. His favorite thing to say right now when you are playing with him is, "One more time?" which sounds more like, "wu moh tie?" He also has a lot of Scott's personality. He seems pretty serious when you first meet him. He doesn't say much and just observes. Then once you get to know him he becomes a little prankster and thinks he is hilarious. He already picks on Annicka and does what he can to drive her crazy.

They do get along well, though, most of the time. They love to play together on the trampoline and with the cars. Annicka is really good at letting him play with her and showing him how to do things. Park loves to watch her play games on the computer. And all in all, we really can't complain. We love them to death!

Yesterday....

Well, we had a busy day. Scott took the day off and we went down to BYU so I could take my final for my dumb English class that I have been working on since August. I can't leave Indie for long enough to leave him at a sitters, so all the kids came down with Scott, I fed him right before I went in. I AM FINISHED! Can I tell you what a relief it is? My class has been REALLY hard, especially since I was watching that little girl Samantha and then I had Indie. So devoting hours and hours to writing papers was not easy...especially since I'm not much of a writer anyway. I also got my final paper back today, it was the big one and I pulled a B. I am very excited about that. The kids got to play at Mcdonald's while I took my test. Then we were lucky enough to be able to go to the Draper Temple openhouse. Annicka loved it. I think she might have liked the bus ride from the church parking lot to the temple better than the temple itself, but it was a good experience. We got to talk with her about doing baptisms for the dead and we talked about getting married in the temple when we got to the sealing room. We also talked about how good she felt while we were there. It was great. We are so lucky to live so close to the temple and to have this gospel in our lives to help guide and direct us in raising our kids.
