Park did it!

For several months now we've been waiting for Park to tell us when he was ready to try riding his bike without training wheels. We knew he was ready, but he didn't want to try. My cautious child. Here's how the conversation went Saturday morning:

Dad: Park, do you want to try riding your bike today?
Park: NO.
Dad: Why not? You can totally do it. You've been riding that strider around like it's nothing.
Mom: Yeah, Park. If you can ride the strider, you can ride your bike.
Park: I know I can't do it.
Mom: You don't know unless you try.
(repeat conversation several times.)
Dad: Listen, I'll give you some starbursts if you try it. You don't even have to do it, just try and I'll give you a starburst.
Park: Ok...

Why does it always come down to the bribe before they'll actually do it?

It still took some coaxing, but he did try and you know what? That was it. He took off like a pro!

Several hours afterward Park asked me:
Park: Mom, what makes your heart beep faster?
Mom: Well, exercising makes it beat faster. And sometimes when you get excited it'll beat faster.
Park: (With his hand on his chest and a big grin on his face) That's it! I'm excited that I can ride my bike! That's why my heart is beeping faster!
We are so proud of him!

I know I have been a slacker of late when it comes to blogging. There has just been so much to do that I needed a little break, and it kind of stinks for Milo, since he is the baby right now and they change so fast! So here is my attempt at a catch-up. There are several posts below in descending order. Mostly pictures, few words, so (especially for those out of town) here's what we've been up to!

Family Photos

These are the ones we will have hung up!

Park City

We just got back from Park City. We decided to spend a few days up there at a condo that was right on Jordanelle Resevoir. Mostly I needed a few days away to pretend I wasn't the Relief Society President, and to just play and enjoy my family. It was the perfect get-away. We all feel rejuvenated and ready to take things on!

Alpine slide:

Chillin' Regae band called Patwa, that we listened to while swimming at the pool. They were actually quite good.

LOTS OF SWIMMING!
At the pool.

 At Jordanelle Res.

While there we also; ate, saw "Brave", ate, shopped, and ate some more!

Indie's preschool program

Preschool has worked wonders for Indie! His language has increased, he is imitating a lot more and his social skills are getting better. He still has a way to go, but it has been great to see him making such great progress! If you'd like to see a video of his preschool program, check out youtube and look under Scott's account, stinkyfalls.

Supposedly going to get his packet...and then deciding not to take it.
 Miss Gina.
Gina...is...AWE-SOME! (Indie totally said it! After Scott prompted him, of course.)

Milo's first haircut (May 17th)

That's right. I'm one of THOSE moms that cuts their child's hair before they are a year. I don't know what it is, but the long wispies drive me crazy!
 Before...
 During...(courtesy of Annicka)

Yeah, he liked the vibration of the clippers.
 And after! What a cutie!

Indie + markers = Holy Crap!

A picture is worth a thousand words...in this case three. Need I say more?

 Yep! That's Milo's crib!
