FHE

Scott had another creative idea for Family Home Evening last week. He pulled out the cushions on the couches and pushed them together to make an awesome fort. Then we pulled out the balls and had a heyday.

Tagged...Me and My Valentine

How long have you been together? Almost six years...married for five and a half exactly on Valentine's day.
How long did you date? Three weeks before we got engaged, we were engaged for three and a half months. I don't have the excuse that Lindsay does about being friends for a long time before either...we knew each other for three weeks! Looking back on it, CRAZY! I got pretty lucky that I didn't marry a crazy man...well...maybe I did. I have not once regretted it though.
How old is he? 33
Who eats more? Me, Scott eats like a bird.
Who said "I love you" first? I did...but in my defense he had already been talking marriage.
Who is taller? Scott
Who sings better? I'd have to say me, but only because Scott refuses to sing, even at church. He does have a good voice though.
Who is smarter? Hmmmm...Scott has definitely got me when it comes to computers, but I feel like I'm pretty smart too, just in other areas.
Who does the laundry? Me
Who does the dishes? We both do.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Scott, if you are standing and looking at the bed, I do if you're facing out from it.
Who pays the bills? Me
Who mows the lawn? Me. I do like doing it though, it's good exercise.
Who cooks dinner? Me. Man, I do everything!
Who is more stubborn? I'd like to say that we are both pretty flexible and willing to look at the other's point of view. But if I have to choose, I might have to say me.
Who kissed who first? Scott kissed me...on our first date I might add, that guy just doesn't waste any time.
Who asked who out? Scott asked me.
Who is more sensitive? Well, Scott doesn't cry, and I cry at the drop of a hat. However, Scott is a pretty sensitive guy, just don't let him hear you say that. I'd have to say though that I am more sensitive, just being a woman.
Who has more friends? Hmmm...I don't know, we're about equal.
Who has more sibilings? We have the same, if we count biological siblings. Scott has seven and I have five whole and two half siblings. I do, however have three step siblings.
Who wears the pants? Is that even a question? Scott thinks he does and I really do.
Who are you tagging? I don't tag.

Snow fun!

The last several weeks we have had snow storm after snow storm after snow storm and they aren't little ones either...we've gotten at least five inches, usually more, with each one. As you can tell, the snow is piling up. We've got bets going on how long it will take to melt this spring. We have had lots of fun outside lately too. Today I made some slides in the snow mounds next to the driveway and Annicka has been getting a kick out of them.

Annicka was "iceskating" on the trampoline here. That's what she said.
And we finally were able to get Park into a forward facing carseat. Yes, he's 14 months now and barely hitting 20 pounds. If we wait until he's 22 pounds, it's not going to be until he is at least two. He loves it though!

Let it snow/the dentist

Sunday night we came home from my brothers and it was clear as a bell, we woke up yesterday morning to this. A good seven or eight inches on the ground. Since Scott is out of town this week I had the joy of shoveling the driveway.
Annicka has been doing some crazy things lately. A few days ago she came up to me with this hairdo. Stylish, don't you think? She is definitely going to be a trend setter.
Today I took the kids to the dentist for the first time. Here they are showing off their pearly whites. Annicka did great too. She was a little nervous at first, but having grandma there helped (Scott's mom is their office manager)...okay, and the fact that they had a TV on the ceiling that she could watch cartoons on. She even let them take X-rays of her teeth, which the dentist said most kids her age won't do, they usually can't hold still that long. No cavities either! Which is something I hope will be how it always is. When I was a kid I had cavities every time we went. In fact I thought it was regular to set an appointment for two weeks after your checkup.
What an adorable little man! Can you see the eczema this kid has on his face? Poor guy...I'm open to any suggestions.
Gotta get a shot of the upper teeth too, right?

Love birds?

I think we have a couple of little love birds on our hands. This arm around Annicka is happening with increasing frequency. They were watching "Toy Story" together here. Sam's dad, Adam, has told us of a few times it's happened at their house too.
The other day Annicka came up to me with this hat on...it's one Scott used to take snowboarding. I think we might have a little thug on our hands too.

For those of you who have been reading our blog from the beginning you'll remember that last year Scott, wrote "I <3 Karin" on our trampoline with the first snow of the year and I posted it. Well, this isn't the first snow of the year, but I wanted to do this for Scott. I know this might make some of you puke (mostly BJ) but I want EVERYONE to know how much I love Scott.
You are the best thing that has EVER happened to me. I mean it. You are incredibly patient and understanding with me. You are an amazing father. THANK YOU for sharing your life with me! I LOVE YOU!

Happy New Year, Happy Birthday, Scott and finally Happy End of the Holidays!

Well, Happy New Year, I know we're a little late on that. Happy Birthday, Scott(yesterday) and with Scott's birthday comes an official end to the holidays for us. With both kid's birthdays and Thanksgiving in November, my birthday and Christmas in December and Scott's Birthday and New Years in January the last three months have been CRAZY! The break will be nice. This morning we got 6+ inches of new snow and Summer (our next door neighbor) and I decided it was time that we made a snowman! The snow packed very nicely, but wouldn't stick to the ball if we rolled it and so it turns out that we had to pack up a pile of snow.

Here is Annicka and Sam with our snowman...we later found some old Christmas tree branches that made great wings to make it an angel.

One more funny little blip, Annicka is now calling me by my first name. It's still "mommy" some of the time, but most of the time it's, "Karin, I'm really hungry!" Or something similar.
