One of those Indie days!

Let me premise this with what Indie likes to sleep in at night. Nothing but his diaper. No matter how often I put pjs on this kid, he takes them off before he goes to sleep, I've kind of given up trying. This morning we woke up to about 4 inches of snow. And before I even realized it, I heard Indie crying at the backdoor, he was already outside. "In what?" you say? Oh, what he sleeps in. No shoes, nothing. And the backdoor? I have yet to find a way to lock it that will keep him inside when I want him inside. So that's how the day started. I brought him in, locked the door and put the piece of wood in so he can't open it (oh wait, he still can). About five minutes later I hear him crying again...outside. naked. again. At least this time he had enough sense to put on his boots. So I bring him in again, and get him dressed in all of his snow clothes. He goes out for about 10 minutes and wants back in because his hands are cold because he took off his gloves. He comes in and strips off all of his snow clothes. At least he left his pants and shirt on. By this time I've given up trying to keep him in. He at least has clothes on and he comes in  and out several times eating handfuls of snow. That's right, I let my kids eat snow. Don't judge me. Anyway, during this time I'm cleaning the kitchen, dishes, wiping counters, sweeping. Just as I'm done sweeping I hear Indie clomp in. I finish sweeping up my dirt pile when Indie comes and gives me a push, which is his way of saying hi. I look up. Mud. EV-ER-Y-WHERE. Large clumps. All over the kitchen floor. You know the kind where you think you got it all cleaned up and then it dries and you see you just smeared it everywhere. While I'm trying to clean up the mud he takes my swiffer mop and plays with it. Now I can't find it and I need to mop, because of all that mud. *sigh* And the cherry on top...he apparently had decided to ditch his boots for a different pair of shoes, his church shoes. Thank heavens he has preschool tomorrow!

Four Months

Milo had his four month check up a couple of weeks ago...all I have to say is so much for having a fat baby! He only gained a pound between his 2 and 4 month check ups...which dropped him from the 80th to the 16th percentile...though 16th is still pretty good for my kids. Oh well! He is still growing, he just isn't as chubby. The pediatrician said that often the caloric content of breast milk can change, and apparently that is what happened to me because he still eats great, it just isn't as fattening.
What a cutie! We love him!

President's Day Weekend

We don't very often take advantage of a three day weekend. But this time we did! We decided to head to Grand Junction, CO to visit with Scott's brother's family. And we had a blast! Thanks again Jeff and Karla! We drove out on Friday afternoon and Saturday we went to the Hot Springs at Ouray. We took the camera but ended up not taking any pictures. Sunday we went to church and just hung out and relaxed playing games and painting with water colors. Then on Monday we headed back home and stopped at Goblin Valley for an hour so the kids could run around and see a cool place at the same time. It was a great weekend!
 Water colors!
Everyone loving on Milo! That was my favorite part of the weekend, I think. Everyone just wanted to hold him and take care of him for me. They'd only pass him back when he would get fussy, which was only when he was hungry or tired. It was a nice break for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my boy, but it was nice not to have to take care of him 24/7 for a couple of days.
 Climbing through the rocks!
Indie doing what Indie does best...running.

What a cool place for the kids. Not only does it look neat, it's a giant playground!

Is that snow?

It's been a weird winter for Utah. We've had a few snow flurries but nothing that has stuck until last week. It's the end of January for crying out loud!
Anyway, the kids had a great time playing in the snow with dad and our neighbors. Indie especially loved it. He threw a major tantrum when it was time to come inside. I only made him come in because he was shivering so hard and his lips were blue, I was afraid he might get hypothermia, but he did not want to stop.

I must say, this girl is going to be a knock-out. Boys beware...I have a bat and I know how to use it!
Park avoided the snowballs, except to eat them!
Indie was having such a good time getting hit by snowballs he decided to throw a few at himself!
And look how big this little boy is getting!

Preschool!

Indie started preschool last week! He seems to be taking to it pretty well.
Here he is coming out from his first day. His teacher said he cried for the first little while, but then his Occupational Therapist came and took him to play for a while and he did fine after that.
The wonderful thing about preschool is that they pick him up in front of our house and they drop him off after school. Indie does well on the bus. He does get a little nervous when he first gets on (see below) but I think that is mostly because he knows I'm going to leave him on it.
He comes home everyday with a note from the teacher saying what they did and how his day went. Of course his favorite thing to do so far is PE. Go Indie!

Happy Birthday Indie!

Yesterday our crazy little man turned 3! He didn't seem to really understand that it was different from any other day, but we did our best to help him celebrate. We had dinner at Carl's Jr. so that he could play on the playground, and he did just that!
This is his, "say cheese!" face.
 Munching on some dinner.

Afterward we came home and had icecream cake, which he didn't really eat because he was too enthralled with his Tron Lightcycle that he got. (Tron is his favorite movie right now)

How we love this little guy! He has been a challenge, but we wouldn't trade him for anything! He has made us better parents and he makes us laugh ALL the time with his crazy moves and funny things he likes to do to meet his sensory needs. Happy Birthday Indie!

Catch-up

We had a CRAZY Christmas season...and since I didn't do much blogging during that time it will mostly be told in pictures!
Gingerbread houses with graham crackers and the Michaelson's. It has become a tradition to have an FHE with them and gingerbread houses!
I love this one of Indie poking his head into the picture! Lately he has finally decided he wants to smile for the camera.
Annicka's Christmas program! Of course she was on the front row and we couldn't see her from where we were sitting. That's how it goes, right?
A Bethlehem Village with lots of crafs for the kids put on by Westlake Community Church. A woman Scott works with invited us to go and it was a lot of fun!
Their little church even had a rock climbing wall in one of the kids' play rooms. Indie made it to the top on his first try! Surprise, surprise!
Indie was sitting in Milo's swing and I was trying to take a picture when he decided to get out and I caught it right before he did a face plant!
And of course chubby Milo! I love having a FAT baby! (His weight was in the 80th percentile at his 2 month appt!)
I had to teach preschool one week...this is how daddy took care of Milo so I could concetrate on the other kids.
And grandma and grandpa Copple came into town and stayed with us and of course the kids had to get the stomach bug that has been going around, so Park and Annie were throwing up and Indie had diarrhea, so no party with the whole family. Thankfully no pictures of that! And Annie and Park got to roast marshmallows with a kit Annie got from the white elephant exchange with Scott's family.
And building gingerbread trees with grandma!
It looks like we forgot to take pictures of Christmas morning and our ward party, and several other things we did over the holidays. Oh, well! That's how it goes!
