BE FOREWARNED! SURGERY PICTURES BELOW!

Okay, apparently I needed to have put up a disclaimer before the last post. Our friend JP tells us that the pictures were disgusting. I didn't think they were too bad. I've seen some pretty grusome surgeries before and I didn't think a couple of pictures of the inside of Scott's knee were too bad, but I guess I was wrong. So...I know it's a little late, but here is the disclaimer. =)

A new ACL

About a month ago Scott hurt his knee playing church ball. (It's always church ball, isn't it?) He went to the instacare and they said it was probably sprained and to give it a couple of weeks. If it didn't feel better then he should see a specialist. Well, last Friday he saw the specialist. He was almost positive Scott had torn his ACL. Surgery was necessary. So Tuesday Scott went in to Altaview hospital and got himself a new ACL, as well as having to have his meniscus (the pad inbetween bones) repaired, it was torn in three different places. Here are some of those fun pictures from the surgery!

Zion

Scott had the week off of work this last week. We decided to take a quick trip down to Zion and St. George to enjoy some warmer weather. So, here are a bunch of pictures from our visit.

I must say that Zion Nat'l Park is aptly named. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place.

We call him Grandpa Minson

Seriously? How many kids can say that they have an action figure of their Grandpa? Complete with the blue eyes, brown hair, high pants (I know, dad, it's a generational thing), and the side part that has been there for as long as I can remember. Even the part is on the correct side. It even looks like an outfit my dad would wear.

WE'RE DEBT FREEEEEEEEEEEE!

Everything except the house! We just got our tax returns and we've officially paidoff the last of Scott's student loans (it's hit the checking account and everything) and we've fully funded our emergency fund. Next on the list....the rest of our food storage and then the basement! It feels amazing! We've never been ones to have credit card debt, but we have had car loans and student loans in the past. When we moved out here four and a half years ago I started listening to Dave Ramsey and I was totally on board with wanting to pay off cars and then pay for everything cash from there on out, it did take a while to get Scott totally on board, though. It takes a while to change that mindset that you need a car loan, but once he figured it out, there's been no turning back! As most of you know we bought our first car for cash a year and a half ago before Indie was born. And now that we are done paying off all debts but the house we have so much more money to work with every month. It's crazy how blessed you can be when you follow the counsels of the living prophets. It will take several months of saving, but we will be able to finish our basement for cash and when that's finished we'll have plenty to put away for retirement and college for the kids. It's a crazy and uncommon lifestyle, but I highly recommend it!

Hockey

We got some free tickets to a Grizzlies hockey game and so we went Saturday night. We didn't stay the whole time, but it was sure worth it! Isn't anything free worth it?

Scott and I got a good laugh out of the messages that were posted on the big screen between periods. Mostly there were things like "Happy Birthday, Jonathon!" There was one though that I just couldn't get over. It said, "To my lovely pregnant wife, Happy Belated Valentine's Day!" I'm sorry, but if you goofed Valentine's Day you absolutely should NOT try to make up for it by posting that on the big screen at a HOCKEY game! Especially when your wife is pregnant.
